One hundred eighty seven businesses in San Diego applied to be named one of the SD Business Journal's 2015 100 Best Places to Work and Coastal Payroll Services is very excited to announce that we ranked NUMBER ONE in the Small Companies Category!!!
This survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best employers in San Diego, benefiting the county’s economy, workforce, and businesses. The list is made up of 100 companies split into four categories: 35 small-sized companies (15-49 US employees), 35 medium-sized companies (50-249 US employees), 17 large-sized companied (250-1,999 US employees), and 13 mega-sized companies (2,000 or more US employees).
Companies from across the county entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in San Diego. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in San Diego, analyzed the data, and determined the final rankings.
Coastal Payroll Services sees the importance in building a positive work environment and strong employee relationships. Aside from PTO and benefits, some of the perks employees of CPS love the most are the wellness program, company “fun days”, and weekly catered lunches. We believe that developing CPS advocates through our employees will have a positive impact in our work, the lives of our clients, and our community.

When the company opened it's doors in 2007, business partners Jonathan Gallagher and Craig Coleman had a mission to provide employers with a local alternative to national payroll providers in the San Diego area, focus on world class customer service, and always strive to bring value to our clients. As CPS has grown from a two-man company to nearly thirty employees, we never stir away from our vision and are constantly seeking ways to better ourselves.
